The Harman Science LibraryThe Harman Science Library, named for Dr. Avraham Harman, a former president of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is the Science Faculty's central library and is located on the Edmond J. Safra Campus at Givat Ram.The library's collections consist of more than 300,000 items in physics, chemistry, life sciences, earth sciences and science teaching. The collections include textbooks, monographs, reference books, periodicals and theses. The expanding digital collection includes updated databases, electronic journals, e-books, CDs and DVDs.
The library serves the Science Faculty's teaching staff, researchers,
graduate and undergraduate students.
Library's services include: Circulation - The circulation desk is located on the entrance level. Circulation services are available for the Hebrew University community, students and staff from other universities according to regulations. At the circulation desk you can also receive a general instruction in using the library's catalog. Reference and instruction services - are located on level -1 in the new Information Center. Instruction in use of databases, e-journals and advanced search in the library's catalog, is available. During the academic year, academic staff and teachers are welcome to schedule instruction sessions for courses, research groups and individuals, on library premises or in university departments. Interlibrary loan and photocopy service from Israeli libraries and abroad - To request an article or a book please fill an online form. This service is available to anyone holding a valid reader's card in return for handling charges. | ||||||||
